Over 100 BCS recruits are set to gather in Bradenton, Fla. Saturday and Sunday for the IMG 7v7 National Championship. 7-on-7, or passing skeleton as it is sometimes known, is a modified football game featuring seven players on each side of the football with the offense consisting of a quarterback, a center and five skill players. The goal of 7-on-7 is to improve a team's passing offense and defense during the off-season -- a time in which passing, a part of football that requires repetition and chemistry, could otherwise fall off.
This weekend's IMG event is the premier 7-on-7 event in the country due to its organization and power to draw elite teams from across the country by way of the regionals conducted throughout the summer prior to the national event.
Superstar recruits that competed in last year's event included Vernon Hargreaves (Florida signee) and Leon McQuay (USC signee) taking on players that included Shane Morris (Michigan QB signee) and Tre'Davious White (LSU signee).
