The injury to Patrice Bergeron that kept him out of most of Game 5 is worse than it appeared. WCVB-TV's Mike Lynch reported on Twitter that Bergeron left the United Center in an ambulance as the third period got underway. The Bruinshave confirmed the report.
Hockey Night In Canada had more information:
From HNIC: Bergeron walked out of B's room to ambulance which presumably took him to hospital. Had stretcher waiting but didn't need it.

There's no official word on what kind of injury Bergeron is suffering from, but he did pull up lame at the end of a shift in the second period. Bergeron has been one of Boston's best players this postseason, so his loss is a critical one.
