Restricted free agent forward Sean Couturier has come to terms on a contract extension with the Philadelphia Flyers, the club announced on Saturday. Couturieris headed in to the final year of his three-year, $4.125 million entry-level contract in 2013, according to CapGeek.com.

The two sides came to terms on a two-year, $3.5 million contract that carries an annual average value of $1.75 million against the salary cap.

The 20-year-old Couturier has spent most of the past two seasons with the Flyers after being selected with the eighth-overall pick in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft. After a 27-point season in 2011-12, he put up 15 points in the shortened 2012-13 season. He remains a key piece to the Flyers future, and at his price, this contract extension is more than reasonable.
