Looking for another speedy, game-altering point guard to pair with Ty Lawson, the Denver Nuggets are pushing to sign free agent point guard Nate Robinson, Yahoo! Sports' Marc J. Spears reports. Spears adds that Robinson is being recruited by new Nuggets head coach Brian Shaw.

One of the bigger surprises last season, Robinson by default played a good amount of minutes on a Chicago Bulls team decimated by injuries but wasn't drawing much interest this summer -- at least, not the type of interest he would like. The 5'9 point guard recently showed frustration during an NBATV interview, as transcribed by CSN Chicago.

"It's funny because I never want to start. I never want to start because that's not my forte. My thing is, I know what I do. I come off the bench and I give energy. That's what I want to do for whatever team that wants me," he continued. "I want a team to want me to be there. Not because somebody's injured."

Robinson played in all 82 of Chicago's regular season and averaged 13.1 points and 4.4 assists. His scoring increased to 16.3 points per game in the postseason as he helped the Bulls beat the Brooklyn Nets in the first round. The Bulls fell to the Miami Heat in a five-game series in the Eastern Conference semifinals.

The diminutive point guard has career averages of 11.5 points and 3.0 assists per game.
