Cleveland Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon, who is suspended for the first two games of the 2013 season, apologized on Monday, the first day of Browns training camp.

Brown was suspended in June and also was ordered to forfeit two additional game checks, but the NFL never confirmed the reason for the punishment. Addressing the media, he said he is ready to put the incident behind him and learn from his mistakes.

"My priorities are definitely in order, definitely in line," Gordon said. "I still got a job to come out here and do every day. I've got to be accountable and be a grown man, help provide for me and my family. So I do definitely have my priorities in order."

When the NFL issued the suspension in June, Gordon explained that he had taken cough medicine for strep throat in February, and the medication contained codeine, which is banned by the league. Monday, Gordon denied having a substance-abuse problem and said he didn't take the codeine for recreational purposes

Gordon broke out as a rookie in 2012, becoming one of Cleveland's biggest offensive threats. In 16 games, he compiled 50 receptions for 805 yards and five touchdowns.
