NFL odds 2013: Giants vs. Cowboys

The Giants and Cowboys will add a new chapter to their rivalry in Week 1, with Eli Manning taking on the new Tampa 2 defense in Dallas. If OddsShark's predictions become a reality, there will be little celebrating in the Giants locker room, as Dallas is favored to win by just a field goal.

The three-point favorites are coming off the Cowboys' second-straight season of barely missing the playoffs. New defensive coordinator Monte Kiffin has implemented a new Tampa 2 defense with hopes of keeping the Cowboys safe against big runs and receptions. Quarterback Tony Romo is fresh off of signing a very lucrative extension in the offseason, and he will look to get the ball to wide receivers Dez Bryant and Miles Austin throughout the game. Dallas is also likely to pick on the Giants linebackers by allowing running DeMarco Murray to run up the gut of New York's defense.

The Giants are hoping to rebound from a rough year that was full of injuries and defeats. The returns of Hakeem Nicks, Jason Pierre-Paul and Prince Amukamara will be welcomed sights for Giants fans this year, as they look to improve on both sides of the ball. With running back Andre Brown out of the lineup, second-year back David Wilson will need to deliver on offense in order to get a road win. If Manning can get Wilson, Nick and Victor Cruz in the end zone, the Giants may come out of Dallas with an upset victory.
