Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch rushed for 43 yards on 17 carries in the team's 12-7 defeat of the Panthers.
It was rough-goings running the football for the entire Seahawks offense on Sunday, as the team averaged just 2.7 yards per carry against what looks to be a stout Panthers front seven this season. Lynch also added nine receiving yards on two catches, but did not score any touchdowns.
Fantasy Spin: Because the game was so close, the Seahawks did not need to abandon the run, and remained committed to it despite its overall ineffectiveness. That bodes well for Lynch, who should see more room to run as the season progresses. He's entrenched as an RB1, although a difficult matchup against the 49ers in Week Two may delay his first big game of the 2013 season another week. Because of his ample opportunities, there's no reason to grow impatient or feel discouraged about Lynch at this phase of the season.
