Jerry Jones gives Monte Kiffin vote of confidence

Jerry Jones has faith in Monte Kiffin.

Despite being listed as the NFL's worst pass defense, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is still backing up his defensive coordinator. Jones gave a vote of confidence to Monte Kiffin during a radio appearance on Tuesday, according to Pro Football Talk. Kiffin was hired following the firing of former coordinator Rob Ryan during the offseason.

Kiffin has transformed the Cowboys' former 3-4 defense into his Tampa 2 this season. The results have been so terrible that it makes Ryan's unit from last year look average. Much like Kiffin, Ryan got votes of confidence from Jones prior to his exit, despite his underwhelming defense in 2012.

Jones has had to give a lot of moral support to his employees this season, given the up-and-down nature of the team. The owner gave quarterback Tony Romosome love when reporters asked about the passer's lack of clutch play in his career. He also went out of his way to publicly guarantee that head coach Jason Garrett would keep his job for next season.

It remains to be seen if Kiffin, Garrett or anyone else will see the same fate as Ryan, sooner rather than later.
