Royce O'Neal got the game-tying shot to go, but the refs determined time had expired before the release.
Oklahoma got a big win in Waco, knocking off No. 12 Baylor, 66-64. Buddy Hield had a huge game, scoring 19 points and hauling in eight rebounds. The sophomore guard hit four three-pointers in the game.
A very evenly-matched game, it seemed apparent in the final minutes that the team with the ball last would likely win. This was almost the case, but Baylor's game-tying shot at the buzzer was declared to have occurred after time expired.
Oklahoma finishes up a four-game stretch in which it played three ranked opponents, going 3-1. Baylor, on the other hand, has lost three of four games and is 1-3 in Big 12 play.
No. 13 Kentucky 74, Tennesse 66
The Wildcats sunk 23 of their 24 free throw attempts to hold off the Volunteers at Rupp Arena. Andrew Harrison was 10-10 from the line, finishing with 26 points. Jarnell Stokes kept Tennessee close with his 20 points and 15 rebounds, but Kentucky's freshmen talent was too much in the second half. Julius scored 18 points on six of nine shooting. The Wildcats are now 3-1 in SEC play.
No. 17 Memphis 101, Le Moyne-Owen 78
In a rare January non-conference game, Memphis got an easy win against their Division II opponents. Five Tigers scored in double digits, led by Nick King's 18. Memphis shot over 58 percent on the day against a team that shares their city limits. The Tigers will head back to conference play next week, hosting Houston on Thursday.
No. 21 Colorado 83, USC 62
Colorado snapped a two-game skid, beating UCLA in Boulder on Saturday. More importantly, the Buffaloes got their first win since guard Spencer Dinwiddie tore his ACL against Washington. Forward Josh Scott was dominant, scoring 20 points and grabbing seven rebounds. USC shot just 37 percent on the game, led by 16 from center Omar Oraby. The Buffs, now 4-2 in Pac-12 play, hit the road to face No. 1 Arizona on Thursday.
No. 23 Duke 95, North Carolina State 60
Duke was out in transition all game, spreading the floor to get open looks from behind the arc against NC State. The Blue Devils were 11-of-24 from deep, with four Duke players hitting at least a pair of triples. Jabari Parker scored 23, and added seven rebounds and three steals to his effort. T.J. Warren scored 23 for the Wolf Pack, but NC State just couldn't run with a motivated Duke team that had lost two of its last four games. Duke visits Miami on Wednesday.
No. 24 Saint Louis 70, Fordham 48
Dwayne Evans had a double-double, scoring 21 and grabbing 10 rebounds for the Billiikens. Saint Louis held Fordham to just 16 first-half points, cruising to a 4-0 start in Atlantic 10 play. This game was won at the free throw line, where Saint Louis attempted 24 more shots from the line than the Rams. The Billikens play Duquesne and Richmond over the next two weeks.
