Felton allegedly pointed a gun at a woman believed to be his girlfriend early Tuesday morning.

New York Knicks guard Raymond Felton was charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the second, third and fourth degrees on Tuesday morning after allegedly pointing a gun at a woman, according to Larry Celona of the New York Post:

The starting point guard, whose wife, Ariane Raymondo-Felton, recently filed for divorce, was being quizzed at the 20th Precinct Station House on the Upper West Side, according to law-enforcement sources.

Officers escorted the point guard from the precinct through a back door into a black Ford Taurus and pulled away quickly.

The woman involved was his girlfriend, sources said.

It was not clear where the alleged incident happened.

Felton turned himself in at 12:50 a.m. on Tuesday, according to Chris Herring of the Wall Street Journal, and neither Felton's agent nor the Knicks have commented on the situation yet. He will be arraigned on Tuesday morning.

Before Felton surrendered, an unidentified woman dropped off his gun at the 20th Precinct station house on the Upper West Side, according to the New York Daily News' Joe Kemp and Andy Clayton.

The second- and third- degree charges are felonies, and the fourth-degree charge is a misdemeanor.

The arrest took place hours after the Knicks lost a 110-108 game to the Dallas Mavericks at Madison Square Garden.
