Lightning celebrate Stanley Cup anniversary with wrong date

The Lightning were a little off on the date of their first Stanley Cup win.

It was a big night in Tampa Bay on Monday as the Lightning were honoring the 10-year anniversary of their 2004 Stanley Cup win before their game against John Tortorella and the Vancouver Canucks.

Tortorella, of course, was the coach of that 2004 team and he is still a pretty popular presence in Tampa Bay as he seemed to receive the loudest applause of any former coach, executive or player who was introduced (and with the notable exceptions of Martin St. Louis, Vincent Lecavalier, Brad Richards and Nikolai Khabibulin, almost all of them were there).

The only real slip-up seemed to be in the opening seconds of the montage video that featured, of course, the wrong date.

It was actually June 7th, 2004 that the team won the Cup with a Game 7 2-1 win over the Calgary Flames thanks to a pair of goals from Ruslan Fedotenko.

You can check out the entire tribute video, as well as the introductions, here.
