Philly schools St. Joe's and Villanova faces UConn and Milwaukee in East Region betting Thursday.
With the 26th ranked defense in the nation, the Connecticut Huskies saw 13 of their last 14 games go UNDER the total.
The 7-seed Huskies will turn their focus to keeping 10-seed St. Joseph's off the scoreboard as a 4.5-point favorite in this Thursday's showdown in Buffalo. Shortly afterward, 2-seed Villanova will take the court as a 16.5-point favorite over 15-seed Milwaukee.
In addition to keeping scores low down the stretch, UConn has been winning games too. The Huskies earned an at-large bid with a 15-5 SU and 12-6-2 ATS record over their last 20 games. Shabazz Napier leads the way on offense for the Huskies with 17.4 points per game.
St. Joseph's enters the NCAA Tournament on a 9-2 SU and 8-3 ATS run that includes an upset over VCU in the Atlantic 10 title game to lock up the A10 Championship.
The Hawks are 0-3 ATS over their last three opening games in the NCAA Tournament and will need big performances from Langston Galloway (17.5 PPG) and Ronald Roberts (14.4 PPG) to buck that trend.
Tip off for Connecticut vs. Saint Joseph's is set for 6:55pm ET at the First Niagara Center in Buffalo, New York. The Milwaukee vs. Villanova betting matchup follows at 9:25pm.
Villanova went 28-4 SU and 21-9 ATS this season to earn an at-large 2-seed, but missed out on a shot at a 1-seed by being upset in the Big East Tournament. The Wildcats are 10-1 SU and 8-3 ATS in their last 11 games as a favorite.
Villanova hasn't had ATS success in the NCAA Tournament recently however with an 0-5 ATS record in its last five tourney games.
The Milwaukee Panthers went a perfect 5-0 SU and ATS to end the season and win the Horizon League Tournament to earn their trip to the dance. Milwaukee is 7-1 ATS with six outright upsets in its last eight games as an underdog.
