Cleveland has picked the Euroleague legend to lead them into 2014-15.

David Blatt is well known around NBA circles as the Euroleague coach longing to come home. On Thursday, the Cleveland Cavaliers offered their vacant head coaching position to Blatt, according to a report from Yahoo! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski.

Blatt has seen significant success overseas, most recently winning the 2014 Euroleague Championship with Maccabi Tel Aviv. Before that, the Boston native had stints coaching in Russia, Israel, Greece and Turkey. Blatt spent the last four years with Maccabi Tel Aviv, resigning after their championship to pursue a position in the NBA.

Cleveland finished last season with a disappointing record of 33-49 after angling in the summer of 2013 for a run in the playoffs. Kyrie Irving is an All-Star point guard, but the rest of the Cavaliers' roster has left much to be desired after No. 1 overall pick Anthony Bennett's disappointing rookie campaign.

The Cavaliers have yet to make an official announcement, though it's expected that Blatt will accept the position. Cleveland has the No. 1 overall pick in next Thursday's 2014 NBA Draft, its third top pick in five years.
