Less than a week after considering retirement, Arizona Cardinals linebacker John Abraham is expected to return to the team.

Less than a week after reports surfaced that John Abraham was mulling retirement due to health concerns, Arizona Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians reportedly believes the linebacker will return to football activities this week, John Weinfuss of ESPN reports.

Abraham, 36, has played in the NFL since being selected in the first round of the 2000 NFL Draft. In that time, he has registered 133.5 sacks, including 11.5 last season. Abraham has reportedly been dealing with short-term memory loss believed to have stemmed from a concussion suffered during the Cardinals' opening week victory over the San Diego Chargers. Abraham did not return to the game.

However, it seems as though Abraham has overcome his memory issues and will soon rejoin to the team. It's unclear, however, what kind of work the linebacker will be able to perform upon returning. It is currently unknown whether Abraham will be cleared for practice, and without knowing that it's equally unknown when he can play in a regular season game.
