The Titus Young saga is now approaching stranger-than-fiction territory. According to Jason Cole of Yahoo! Sports, Young was also charged with felony theft on May 4, giving him four separate run-ins with the law in nine days. The former second-round pick seems to be caught in a rapid downward spiral, which may be tied to mental illness, according to the wide receiver's father.

Young was arrested for driving under the influence last Sunday, and has been unable to keep himself out of headlines since. Just 15 hours later, he was arrested again for allegedly trying to break his car out of an impound lot. This past Friday, Young was charged with burglary, assaulting a police officer and resisting arrest, to bring his week's arrest total up to three incidents.

Young was in custody as of Sunday, with bail set at $75,000. His hopes of returning to the NFL are diminishing seemingly by the minute, after a promising start to his career with the Detroit Lions. Young had 48 receptions for 607 yards and six touchdowns in 2011 as a rookie.

Young appeared in 10 games last year; however, he was suspended due to several incidents with coaches and teammates. He had even deliberately lined up incorrectly at times when he did make his way onto the field.
